Bryan Reedy

Bryan Reedy produces paintings, sculptural works, and installations rooted in a concern for our greater psycho-corporeal existence. Reedy’s practice draws on his personal engagement with the expression of identity (socio-political, sexual, philosophical), the making of place, and the desire for transcendence within the growth and decay of the everyday.

Untitled (morphological prototype project —extruded derivative 1 [manual]) is one in a series of large-scale works borne out of explorations into morphology. With particular focus on those interactions of form that point to organic sexuality, the abstract shapes throughout the series evoke feelings of the body and of landscape even as they collapse back into the flatness of the picture plane.
